And now we report back

We were in a hurry to visit the Borodyansky Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of the Population, which is subordinated to the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine. Why were you in a hurry to go there? They were also waiting for our help.

And we delivered it without delay: functional medical beds and mattresses for them, wheelchairs, walkers (rollators), toilet chairs, heaters, shower chairs, bedside tables, infusion stands, first aid kits – all this is in demand because the Center is developing its services.

And there are a lot of them: individual counseling, group therapy and support groups, family counseling, ergo, art, cryotherapy and virtual reality rooms to help overcome the effects of combat trauma. All services for veterans, their families and families of fallen defenders will be free of charge. The Center’s priorities include returning veterans to active social life, restoring and maintaining their mental and physical health, introducing innovative forms of assistance, and providing legal support.

The Borodyansky Center for Social and Psychological Rehabilitation is a pilot project of a modern model of social and psychological rehabilitation for veterans implemented by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine. It was destroyed by the Russians in March 2022 and restored on the second anniversary of the liberation of Kyiv region from the Russian occupiers.

The renewed Center functions to provide social and psychological assistance to war veterans, persons who have special services to the Motherland, injured participants of the Revolution of Dignity, family members of such persons and family members of deceased war veterans, family members of deceased defenders of Ukraine, and military personnel of the armed forces, National Guard, the Security Service of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service, persons who were members of volunteer formations, persons released from captivity, family members of the above categories, families of those whose relatives are currently in captivity, and other categories of citizens by meeting their needs for psychological, legal, social, informational and other types of services. The Center provides inpatient care for groups of veterans and their families, including meals, at the expense of donor funds.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy donated $100,000 for the construction of this center, a monetary reward he received along with the Medal of Freedom, which is awarded in the United States to prominent world figures.

The staff of the institution and our volunteer team are grateful to our partners – Oksana Ulan and the team of the Ukrainian Medical Society in Germany UÄVD, the UA Never Alone Foundation and Vladislav from Hamburg for the medical equipment provided to our veterans, and the Charitable Foundation “Guardian Angels” for the rehabilitation equipment provided!
